History
Citibank International plc, Netherlands Branch has had a presence in the Netherlands since 1964. With offices now in both Amsterdam and Breda, Citi is one of the larger foreign banks in the Netherlands and the only U.S. headquartered bank with such a long standing presence in the country.
Citi operations started 45 years ago in the Netherlands in 1964 at the Herengracht 545 in Amsterdam. In 2006, the Amsterdam office moved to the current premises in the World Trade Center of Schiphol Airport, ideally located for our international clients and customers.

Citi in the Netherlands has a dedicated team of over one hundred professionals. In order to optimally make use of our international presence in over 100 countries, the Netherlands branch exclusively serves large multinational corporations, some of the largest and market leading local companies, financial institutions, large investor funds, pension funds and public sector organizations. Citi Netherlands, as a part of the Institutional Clients Group, has a focus on Global Banking, Global Markets and Global Transaction Services.
The Relationship Associate (RA) is a member of a defined client team, named the Financial Institutions Group (FIG).
Within a specific industry or geography portfolio, the RA provides a key supporting role in the management of the bank's relationships with its clients in order to retain, maintain growth and improve customer satisfaction. Working as part of a Relationship team, the RA assists the Relationship Manager in the day to day administration and management of specific client accounts, identifying and supporting the delivery of banking solutions.
The RA will have the capacity to independently generate solutions for the customer by their knowledge and ability to work effectively with internal product specialists and operational staff. They will provide support to Senior Bankers on a portfolio of names.
- You have a university degree in commercial engineering, economic sciences, law or equivalent.
- You have a banking experience of 3 to 6 years in a commercial position and basic knowledge of banking products is a plus. High degree of specialisation, similar to a Junior Banker profile, but without the specific Corporate Finance-Capital Structuring capabilities
- An RA needs to have knowledge of multiple products and services and an excellent knowledge of the bank's internal processes and systems.
- An in-depth knowledge of/experience base in all aspects of transactional banking
- Language skills: we require in-depth knowledge of English and Dutch
- Personal skills: problem analysis, capacity for good judgement, talent for planning and organisation, ability to take initiative, team spirit, strong written and oral communication, dynamism and flexibility.
